At Precision ABA, LLC, we provide intensive services, on a less intensive schedule. Using fluency-based instruction allows our learners to practice targets at a rapid rate, meaning that we get through more content in a smaller amount of time. We begin by teaching our learners how to learn. This is a lifelong process but, once they have a firmer understanding of how we will teach, they are better equipped to fly through content and material.
For every skill we target, we break it down into the smallest units and begin there. This allows our learners to build success and confidence as we lay a solid foundation. By building these foundational skills to fluency, we equip them with a strong set of skills that will retain over time, in different environments and scenarios, for the rest of their lives. Just like a house, if you have a strong frame, it will stand for centuries. If you have a weak foundation, it will topple at the slightest hint of adversity.
Our learners and their therapy teams work really hard to meet every goal set in a session, and our parents do too. Every family has a parent coaching plan (that sometimes involves grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, babysitters, siblings, pets, and anyone else important to your child’s life and development) created specifically for their needs. Parents share their goals for their child and their Behavior Analyst develops a plan for achieving those goals. Parent coaching sessions range from once per month to 5+ days per week depending on the family’s goals and needs.
At the start of services, a meeting occurs with parents and at least two members of the Precision ABA team. In that meeting, parents share their goals for their child, what their child is great at, and what they need extra help with. From there, the Precision ABA team members decide if we will be the right fit to work on those goals. If not, we will work with you to find a provider who will be. If we are, we will create an assessment plan and then, a Behavior Support Plan (BSP), which guides our services. Since so much time goes into assessing your child: creating a BSP, and then writing an individualized curriculum based on those assessments, this process can take some time. Many parents think that this means they have to wait to begin services, but it doesn’t. From the minute we meet your child, we are beginning services: getting to know them and encouraging them to get to know us. As you have experienced in your own life, you don’t learn best from strangers, but from those you know and trust.
